Industrial Haven
There is the ability to get lost in the decked front garden, which houses a playful 2 meter deep playing-card tiled plunge pool. The screen planting creates contrast against the bold colours of the pool and texture of the recycled timber fence, creating a unique feature for the front entrance of the house. This creative space maximised functionality and challenges what we considered a front garden. Its success lays in its form and elements which serve as a striking focal point, when looking out from floor-to-ceiling front windows.
The design brief was ‘inspiring inner-city lifestyle’ and with the kitchen bench extending out through custom bi-fold doors that disappear to create a seamless boundary between house and garden. This indoor/outdoor multi-dimensional space extends the living space into an entertaining zone and place where one can reflect and feel a sense of connection with the surrounding suburb.
